What is permanent make-up?
Permanent make-up is a long-lasting make-up that is applied by penetrating and infusing pigment into the topmost layers of the skin to bring out the natural beauty of the face. Permanent make-up has been perfected using the latest European equipment with accupuncture technology. Precision, less discomfort and a shorter recovery time are essential to achieve the best aesthetic results possible.
Who is permanent make-up for?
- busy women with little time to apply make-up
- people with allergies to conventional make-up
- those physically incapable of applying make-up
- contact lens wearers, athletic people, and those with oily skin who tend to smear make-up easily
- burn survivors and people with Alopecia or Vitiligo
- women who seek correction of assymetry to the facial features
- women who wish to look their best all the time
How long will permanent make-up last?
Permanent make-up will last a long time but its permanency will vary with each individual. Depending on many factors, including age, health, skin condition, life-style and home care during healing process, it will last, typically, 2-5 years or much longer. Natural skin renewal, sun exposure, swimming and peels will make the pigment fade over time. The face is dynamic and always changing. Permanent make-up may need to be adjusted or reapplied as the face changes. You will want to freshen up your new make-up every couple of years.
What about a procedure?
Before implanting the color into the skin, topical anesthetics are used to minimize discomfort. There is normally slight swelling and/or redness in the skin after the procedure. When the procedure is completed the color usually appears darker then the final result but will lighten up during the healing process. Only disposable accupuncture needles are used for permanent make-up and all parts of the equipment are properly disinfected and sterilized.
What is the best color eyeliner for me?
During consultation you will get to choose a pigment that will best complement your natural skin tones and the color of your hair. Remember that pigments tend to look slightly different once in the skin. It is also advisable to stay away from extreme colors and shapes that may quickly go out of fashion. Permanent make-up is intended to enhance the lash, brow or lip line, not to completely replace make-up. If you go out for the night or want a different look you can add as much make-up as you wish.
Is this a good investment?
Your investment in permanent cosmetics saves you time and money in the long run. You will also save yourself the embarrassment of smeared and smudged brows and liners. Permanent make-up lasts a long time, depending on the pigment, and only needs retouching every couple of years.
The recovery
You may resume normal activity after the procedure. However you should avoid sun exposure, swimming, steam and sauna. It is advised to apply ice for 10 min at a time during these first few hours. After eyeliner procedure it is important to wear sun glasses as your eyes may be temporarily sensitive to light. If you have a history of fever blisters or herpes, simplex medication needs to be prescribed prior to the procedure. As you become accustomed to your new make-up it is not uncommon to want more.
